On July 12, 2017, the gym floor at Spring Grove Elementary School was damaged due to heavy rains overwhelming the storm drains near the gym’s east end exit doors. This caused water to flow into the gym resulting in irreversible damage to the gym’s wood floor.  Within 24 hours, crews were able to remove the damaged floor allowing the area to dry. Currently, we are working with the district insurance company and an architectural firm to ensure the gym floor is replaced in an expedited manner that does not sacrifice quality or safety. Unfortunately, the floor will not be completed for the start of the school year. Spring Grove Elementary School principal, Chris Pittman, is working with staff and district administrators to make sure alternatives are available for students and community groups who use this gym facility.
