2017 School Board Elections

Although the school board election next April 4, 2017 may seem a long way off, now is the time that candidates are considering their future plans.

 

School board elections are handled by the county clerk or board of election commissioners. For more information, please contact the McHenry County Clerk’s Office at: www.co.mchenry.il.us

Important Dates

September 20 – First day that prospective candidates may circulate nominating petitions for signatures for the April 4, 2017 school board election. (10 ILCS 5/10-4)

December 12 – First day to file nominating papers for candidates for the April 4, 2017 Consolidated Election with the county clerk or county board of election commissioners in which the principal office of the school district is located. (9-10 and 10 ILCS 5/10-6)

December 19 – Last day to file nominating papers for school board candidates for the April 4, 2017 election with the county clerk or county board of election commissioners in which the principal office of the school district is located. (10 ILCS 5/10-6)

January 26 –Last day candidate may file notarized papers withdrawing nomination with the county clerk or county board of election commissioners in which the principal office of the school district is located. (10 ILCS 5/10-7)

April 4 – Consolidated Election Day, includes election of school board members. (10 ILCS 5/2A-1.1 and 2A-1.1a)

SCHOOLS TESTED FOR LEAD IN WATER

Due to recent national news, D2/D157 conducted professional water testing for lead in all four schools as a precaution for students and staff.   The school districts are pleased to report all tests conducted by McHenry Analytical Water Laboratory, Inc. were found to be within acceptable levels set by the EPA.

New Security System

Please read the following letter regarding our new security system for our exterior doors.


Early Childhood Education Screenings

Is your child between 3 and 5 years of age and not yet eligible for Kindergarten?  Do you live within the Nippersink School District boundaries?  Please call to schedule a free preschool screening. The screenings are held periodically throughout the year to identify children who may qualify for school based Early Childhood Educational Services.  The next screenings are scheduled for:

Friday, November 16 
Friday, February 22.

If you have any concerns or just want to make sure your child is developing age appropriate milestones, please call to schedule an appointment with Kris Lacher (ECE Teacher) at (815)678-6792.  Screenings are held at Richmond Grade School.

Pertussis Vaccination Clinics

Due to the recent Pertussis (Whooping Cough) outbreak in McHenry County, the McHenry County Department of Health has teamed up with Dominick's Pharmacy to provide immunizations for people ages 14 and up. Please see our McHenry County Department of Health link in the left navigation menu for more information and a letter providing a discounted price on the vaccine.
